I am building a new computer using a Z790 Riptide board. The power turns on fine - all of the lights and the fans go on. However, when I try to connect a monitor to the HDMI port on the motherboard, it doesn't get a signal. I tried the same cable/monitor combo with another computer and it worked fine.
One thing I tried was removing the GPU (a Geforce RTX 4070 Ti Super) and then the display started working and I was able to get into the bios. When I reinstalled the GPU, it stopped working again. I've tried a couple different power adapter cables to connect the GPU to the PSU with no change. Any idea what's going on? What should I try next? |

Update for anyone who is looking for this in the future: Clearing the CMOS worked. I have no idea why, but things seem to be working now.

Thanks for the update grysqrl. Clearing CMOS before powering up a newly built system
is always a good idea. |
