Hi all,

I have encountered an ugly issue with my K6. I have an 8700k, Z370 K6, 2x16 Gb Corsair vengeance (worked without errors on AM4 platform), Corsair TX750W PSU, Corsair H110i GT AIO.

I can overclock easily the CPU or the memory, no issues there. Issues are appearing when I disable the CSM boot. I restart the computer and the mobo hangs with code 04 (memory) or 97 (pci-e). Same problem with both 1.20 and 1.30 Bios versions. If I leave CSM enabled, the board boots fine everytime.

Reseated everything without success. Anyone had this issue?

On the other side of things, 8700k pisses on my old Ryzen 1700 :)

Happy new year! Tomorrow :D

I just built my new system with Z370 Gaming K6 and I have exactly the same problem!

It seems that it's related to the video card though - somehow this bug doesn't allow the video card to start in UEFI and therefore you need  the CSM to boot up the video card in legacy.

Do you also have Asus ROG STRIX-GTX1080-A8G-GAMING?

I contacted the Asrock support and they replied that, of course, they have tested this motherboard with bios 1.30 and CSM disabled and it boots up just fine.

gtx 1070 here, meanwhile updated to 1.40 and reversed to 1.30. The problem magically disappeared.

Really? Where did you get 1.40 from? Did they publish 1.40? Because on the website the newest UEFI is 1.30. I guess they took it down because of some reason. Can you send it to me, please?

at some point, it was published (related to spectre patch). It was pulled down, meanwhile. Unfortunately, I really don't have the file anymore, I would have sent it to you :(

Other tip: try not to spam del or f2 to enter bios, press it just once. Sometimes bios hangt when spamming keys.

I managed to find it on their ftp server. I will flash it later today.
ftp://europe.asrock.com/BIOS/1151/Z370%20Gaming%20K6(1.40)ROM.zip

Why did you revert back to 1.30 though?

1.4 or the Spectre Update was pulled down because Intel fucke up the Microcode. It is not recommended to use this Update
