    Posted: 04 Jan 2018 at 1:38am
Greetings all,

I'm looking for some advise on troubleshooting my new Z370 Gaming K6 board.

When I attempt to use the voltage offset mode to OC, stability testing using AIDA64, the board shoots my Cvolts over 1.4 which instantly drives my temps over 100C. This is using 4.8 All core, Level 1 LLC, MCE off, fixed FSB of 100, offsets of -30 to -50.

Meanwhile, I am running a stable OC of 4.8 @ 1.28 using the fixed voltage mode at roughly 80C. And even 5.0 @ 1.28 but my thermals are in the high 80's at this setting.

I've reflashed that bios to v1.3 and have reset the board to defaults multiple times.

I'm using CPU-Z and HWMonitor for stats...

Any thoughts?

Flake board or PEBKAC?

My build is as follows:

8700k
Z370 Fatty Gaming K6 bios version 1.3
Kraken X62 performance mode
EVGA 1080TI SC2
32gb G.Skill 3200
EVGA 750 GQ Series
WB Blue M.2 SSD
S340 Elite Case w/ NZXT AF series fans
Win10 Pro

Thanks!

Hello,

i got a similar setup like you, same MB, CPU and RAM. However the RAM wont run at 3200 no matter which settings i try. May i ask you DRAM voltage and settings?

I tried bios 1.3 and 1.2.

Your problem: I got the best OC results with fixed mode. Offset mode gets me random freezes. Im living with 4.6ghz but better thermal results.

Best regards

Sorry to hear you are having issues running your ram at the XMP setting.

Mine is running at at 16,18,18,38 - 3200. Fixed voltage of 1.35. Although I did NOT experience any issues with the voltage on AUTO.

Have you run Memtest86 to see if you have a faulty stick of RAM?

As for mine, I'm not very thrilled with the thermals at the least. Wondering if I lost the lottery on the CPU...

Hope this helps!
