    Posted: 02 Feb 2018 at 1:29am
Hi all! I've had the AB350 Gaming K4 ATX motherboard for a few months now, running a R5 1500X.  It came with BIOS 2.40 already on the board.  Everything was running fine.  Over the last couple of days I updated the BIOS.  I went from BIOS 2.40 to BIOS 3.00, and then from BIOS 3.00 to BIOS 3.30.  The flashing went without a hitch using the motherboard's built in flashing utility both times.  However, I've gone back into the motherboard's product page today and found that all but BIOS 4.60 have been removed.  I've grabbed 4.60, intending to update to 4.60, however whenever I launch the instant flash utility it tells me the image file cannot be found.  I've tried a couple of different USB sticks, formatted to FAT32, and had no joy with either of them.  Does anyone know why all the old image files were removed from the website, they were all there yesterday?  Is the 'image file cannot be found' a fault due to something I'm doing, or is it possible something has gotten messed up on the website?

TrolleyDave, I suggest you contact ASRock.  I suspect that ASRock has screwed-up.  I suspect 4.60 has a precursor and they removed it.  When the flash utility cannot detect the precursor BIOS it will report the error message you are seeing.  There is nothing wrong at your end.  Please give ASRock a hard time - looks like they have caused problems for many users.  Enjoy, John.

p4.60 requires that you update to p3.40 first, so ASRock definitely screwed up.

php, are you positive 3.40 is the precursor?

I have every ASRock BIOS here.

I have contacted ASRock of this and am awaiting a reply/fix to the web page.

Till that time, you guarantee me 3.40 is the precursor and I'll up 3.40 to ZippyShare.

Guys and Gals, sorry bot this. It will be corrected, soon.

Thanks for the help everyone!  Glad it wasn't just me being a bit daft and not getting things right.  And thanks for getting it sorted out on the website, wardog.  Will keep an eye out on it being fixed.  Think I might grab a copy of all the bios files just in case something similar happens in the future.  In the meantime, will try the 3.40 bios that you've uploaded here and give 4.60 another try.  Will post the results back!  Thanks again for all the help.

Ok, updated the bios to 3.40 using the file that wardog shared, and it then let me update to 4.60!  Apart from a slight heart attack when it didn't boot into Windows after updating to 4.60, it went without a hitch.  The reason it didn't boot into Windows after applying 4.60 is that it reset all my HDD priorities, making it point to a different drive than my boot drive.  But once I'd re-applied them it worked like a charm!  Thanks again for the help everyone, hopefully anyone else having the same problem as me will see this thread and be able to resolve their problem thanks to your speedy and very useful help.
