Hi everyone,
I would like a little help, please. I bought a brand new Asrock Z370M PRO4 motherboad + i3 8100 recently. And I have a 19'' Hanns-g jc199D monitor with native resolution 1280x1024. It is connected via VGA cable, cause my DVI on the monitor is burned, and currently I don't have any additional PCI-E video cards. My problem is that I can't set desired resolution for work, which is 1280x1024. I'm using Solus OS and tried it with Ubuntu. I've read and tried lots of things: manual adding of resolution in the OS, updating BIOS, and so many; and I can't get a resolution any bigger than 1024x768. In the Asrock page somewhere in the specifications it says that D-Sub of this model supports max. resolutions up to 1920x1200 @ 60Hz. I don't know why it can't detect the right display resolution. I noticed and something else - in the UEFI/BIOS it says that current resolution is set to 1024x768, if the display is not UHD. It seams that the resolution is fixed by BIOS. And yes, my display is an older one, but that does not explains why the motherboard graphics can't handle it. I tried lots of things and I don't know how to solve this problem And from so many experiments, cable plugs and unplugs, I'm afraid that I just broke or burned the VGA of the motherboard, because it shows bluish screen. The VGA port on this mainboard model is not very well fixed. It wobbles when you try to plug or unplug the cable. I noticed it and I've done it with caution, but even though it still broke. I'm slightly mad for what happens for this brand new purchase. :) My questions are: How can I solve this resolution problem? Any Ideas? And can I change the motherboard it is still in warranty? |
