I have been having issues with my MoBo recognizing my SSD. I recently re-installed windows after the update last week killed functionality of a program I use. I also wanted to ensure that my installation of windows was completed solely on my SSD.
After a bunch of frustrating issues at install with my BIOS not recognizing one or both of my drives (see sig for specifics) - I managed to get windows 10 pro installed on my SSD and boot into windows. Unfortunately, I am having the same issues once windows has been installed where my BIOS doesn't recognize my SSD and therefore will not boot into windows. I have checked the drive with Samsung magician and it is "good" according to the tool and the system operated fine for the 3 or so months since my initial build at the end of 2017. I have seen a couple other posts with similar issues but they didn't seem to resolve (http://forum.asrock.com/forum_posts.asp%3FTID=5401&title=ab350m-pro4-ultra-m2-slot-not-working960evo) - does anyone know what is going on or how this can be resolved? I am also noticing that my BIOS settings seem to be changing without input from me - most notably my CSM which was mentioned in the post linked above. No idea what is going on and it is immensely frustrating. Any suggestions/thoughts?

I don't have the same motherboard as you but I think a lot of them were adversely affected by the recent BIOS update to support Raven Ridge APUs. You don't say which BIOS you are using but if you have recently upgraded that is probably the cause of your problems. I had the same issues and they were completely fixed by updating to the very latest beta BIOS whose links only started working yesterday.
Just one other observation: it's generally considered best practice to have only one drive connected when installing Windows, then add any others afterwards.

Sorry I didn't post my BIOS number as I was at work but it seems I am on P300 - here is an image of my BIOS main screen in case I have mis-identified it - https://imgur.com/lVKDrGn
I did end up re-installing my OS by removing my HDD so I think I got that right at least.

Yes, P3.00. That's quite an old version. The one with the potential problems is either P4.40 or P4.60, introduced to support the Ryzen 5 2200G and 2400G APUs. The best one for your 1700X at the moment is probably P3.40.

Sounds good - I will flash to P3.40 and see if that improves the issue.
Eventually I can get the BIOS to recognize the SSD it just takes some tinkering with settings and reboots. If the computer is left on, eventually it seems to re-boot but I don't know if that is windows restarting or what exactly.

Updated to 3.40 and 4.30 and then 4.60 and I am still experiencing the same issues.
Changing the CSM settings and plugging in a boot disk seems to occasionally allow me to boot from my SSD but it is inconsistent (inconsistent insofar as the BIOS recognizes the SSD and boots to windows). Any other ideas on what I can do to resolve this issue?

Still having issues on 4.70 - still need to tinker with the BIOS settings but it definitely wasn't a plug-n-play solution to the issues I was having unfortunately.
