I've purchased some rear 80mm Artic F8 PWM PST fans for my case and, when using the 4pin Fan_2 connector for the ASRock B350 ITX board, I can't seem to get my fans to go below 2100RPM.
Even using the BIOS Fan Tuning and setting my own curves, I have seen no change. Are others having similar fan control issue with this board? I understand that this board has had wifi and other problems, just wondering if fan control is one of them. |

Yes. I have found that to be the case. I'm using the same fans plus the 140mm PWM version. It is broken in both the 4.43 and new 4.50 BIOS. Please can you confirm your BIOS version?
I find it best to not use the Fan Tuning utility until it's fixed. If you have used it and messed up your fan profiles (it caused my 140mm fan to stall when trying to discover its minimum duty cycle) you'll need to restore the BIOS defaults (F9). Then you'll need to re-enter all your settings again and then either set the desired profile for your fans or use FanTastic to set up a custom curve. When Fan Tuning worked this was easy because, once calibrated, FanTastic would not let you set a value below your fan's minimum duty cycle, ensuring that it never stalled. Since Fan Tuning is not usable at the moment it is possible to stall your fans so be careful when experimenting. Another thing you might try is to leave the BIOS fan controls set to their defaults and instead use the ASRock F-Stream Tuning application from within Windows. It seemed to work better that the BIOS under 4.43 but I haven't tested it since upgrading to BIOS 4.50.

My BIOS is 4.50, but I can confirm that this issue was present at 4.43.
Are you able to even have control over your fans at all? Whenever I try to set my fan curves, my rpm doesn't change at all, and it's more or less stuck at the ~2100rpm for my 80mm fans and ~800 rpm for my 200mm. Edited by solartrifle - 07 Mar 2018 at 12:58pm |

Sorry, edit clash. I updated my post to suggest using the Windows program F-Stream Tuning instead.

Oh bless, F-Stream works like a charm with 4.50 as far as I'm concerned :)
