Greetings fellow Ryzen users?Smile

We have seen a large number of issues being reported after users have updated their BIOS to versions 4.0 and above. Guys, if you are not using Raven Ridge, do not update your BIOS to 4.xx, at least for the time being. 4.xx BIOS versions are designed to support Raven Ridge and improve stability and functionality with the new APUs, this, as is often the case, will likely cause some issues early on with older Summit and Bristol Ridge based systems.?

This does not come from ASRock, it comes from my own testing and experiences as well as observations of the trends on the forums here. There is nothing to be gained updating to BIOS versions 4.0 and higher for Ryzen 1000 series, Athlon and A-Series users. Stick to whatever BIOS version is most stable for you pre 4.0.?

It is inevitable that AMD's AGESA code will be focusing on supporting new and upcoming CPUs and as a result, the odds are high that many of these changes may adversely effect older generation based systems. Hopefully we will see this change soon and improvements will filter down to previous generation CPUs with BIOS updates down the line. For the moment however, I strongly recommend you do not update to 4.xx. If you have already updated and are experiencing issues, flash back to the last stable BIOS version you used.?
