Hi Asrock community,
I am experiencing lot of freezing problems with my new ryzen build with the motherboard Asrock ab350m pro4. I only use Linux and I will have to try if it happens on Windows too, anyway the freezing are anticipated by these messages: Mar 30 11:12:57 localhost-live kernel: pcieport 0000:00:01.2: PCIe Bus Error: severity=Corrected, type=Data Link Layer, id=000a(Transmitter ID) Mar 30 11:12:57 localhost-live kernel: pcieport 0000:00:01.2: device [1022:15d3] error status/mask=00001000/00006000after a minute from the messages the mouse stop working, the internet connection stop and after a while the hard disk stop working and at that point I need to reboot the system (It also happens without an hard disk so it's not an hard disk fault). The keyboard, sound and whatever happens on the screen keep working until the hard disk does. I don't have any PCIe cards and the device numbers corresponds to the PCI bridge 00:01.2 PCI bridge: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD] Device 15d3 00:01.6 PCI bridge: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD] Device 15d3I have created a bug report here with full log here! https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=199249 Is this a known problem? The symptoms seems different then other freezes reported here as it doesn't seems to involve ram but more a problem of communication between the components. similar problem described here I think: http://forum.asrock.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=7909&PN=1&title=raven-ridge-freezing-usb-freezing This is a workstation, no overclock. I've also tried to reset the CMOS and removed the battery too. According to this thread 4.50 may not have bus errors, I bought the motherboard and updated to the last firmware available at that time (4.70). I'll try to downgrade and see if the error persists http://forum.asrock.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=8193&KW=ryzen+2400g&title=ab350m-pro4-2400g-cannot-boot-any-linux My PSU is new but it's not zero load certified (I didn't know better), but I have activated Typical current Idle so it should be fine. I am experiencing the exact same error.
My configuration: A320m Pro4 Ryzen 2200g 16GB RAM Ancient PSU. SATA 240GB SSD. SATA DVD. I was able to load Linux Mint Cinnamon 18.3 64 bit. It would experience intermittent freeze ups. When I tried to add a SATA 1TB HDD, it hung hard. Initially the M/B would not boot, so I reset CMOS and unplugged the SATA devices. This got the BIOS to come up. Adding the SSD back in, I tried to bring it up. Now it tries to boot Linux, but can't because of the repeated PCIe error. |
