Hi,
since I've been upgrading all my Ryzen 1700@AB350M Pro4 machines, it is not possible to run Server 2016 (at any Version or Update-level) with the installed Hyper-V role. Every time I do so, the system won't boot an hangs during its process. The only solution that works is to downgrade the BIOS to Version 3.40 or below, which can't be the solution after all. I checked if this problem occurs with Windows 10 (with Hyper-V-Feature), but surprisingly that works fine. Hence I suspect, there must be something wrong with the BIOS >3.40. Can anybody confirm this? Has anybody a fix for it? I wanted to upgrade all my old systems (>80) to Ryzen @AB350M Pro4 or a possible AB450M Pro4, but would now hesitate due to this bug. Thanks! BTW: Server 2008R2@Hyper-V works regardless the BIOS version. Edited by Sightus - 04 Apr 2018 at 8:48pm |

I'll continue to write to myself; seems this problem ist related to the combination of the Ryzen 2xxx-Support-BIOS and an installed Ryzen 1xxx.
Today I switched my Ryzen 7 1700(x) with a brand new Ryzen 7 2700X and Server 2016 with the activated Hyper-V-role is booting without a problem. So: a) If you need Hyper-V@Server 2016 with an Ryzen 1xxx ==> use the BIOS 3.40 or below. b) If you want the same but you are running a Ryzen 2xxx ==> use the BIOS 3.70 or above. |

Yes, thank you, indeed!
This type of information is really scarce, so your 'mini blog' will save some poor soul a lot of time. Unfortunately, that's how ASRock BIOS team is... |
