I honestly believe that ASRock can and will make this right. They did not release a new x399 board and I take that as they had laid a good enough groundwork for the 2900 series.

They want to be taken seriously and then they will have to pony up the work for it.

These things we point out, like memory speed settings not getting set/saved or applied and BSOD at restart/coldboot are glaring obvious and it will not take einstein to replicate or fix. It will take some good old effort from the UEFI BIOS programming team though.

How can we speed this process up admins?

I wanted to update my latest findings about going back from 3.30 -> 3.23B (the newest beta).

The old saved profile settings shows up but they don't contain anything, so loading them does not alter the DIMM timing settings for example.

So I did a new profile and saved it and applied it. And it works!

So there, I have now 2933/12/12/12/28 and will do my faster subtimings as well.

No BSOD when rebooting win10.

I have not tried putting it to sleep and doing a wakeup which is where many untested bioses usually fail. Will do that.

Thankyou!

I will report back about the longterm stability in a while. I added a new JCAT USB Femto card for audio purposes and it seems stable for now.

Haven't got the time to dwelve into the FAST subtimings yet but will get to that.  For now I'm really watching the stability of the system for unexpected reboots. I've had one but that could be due to other reasons than the bios.

I can also report back -- running now 3.23 Beta and happy with it.
Memory as stable as with 3.10 or 3.20, plus I am the only one who noticed improvements in the memory latency?
Normally I've had ca 80ns latency (3200 CL14 with optimized timings +CR2 and Geardown disabled (was a must for me to reach 100% stability)).
Now I have ca 65ns in AIDA benchmark.

I've been running 3.30 and still get chipset initialization error code 63. Dr. Debug says 63 is chipset error. Is this going to be fixed? There have been no further BIOS updates since August. I'm about to rip this board out and replace it with a competitor board, like Gigabyte.

My board won't POST most times I turn it on. Error code 63. I have to hard power off, then back on, and if lucky, it POSTs. If not, I just hear fans, and no display, and no KB/MS power either.

I have CPU 1900x at stock speed, no overclocking. 64GB Cosair Vengencne which is downclocked to 2900MHz and this thing still won't POST sometimes.

So is the 3.33 based on the 3.23 beta (I hope) and not the alphaware 3.30?

Who will go first? Wink

I'm running it, and it seems fine, but I've not had time to do any tweaking yet.
