a wild guess (and yes it can only be a guess)

was some corruption to the bios flashing at some stage
(could be writing file to stick or using file to bios rom, and could have been caused by unstable ram )

but it seems maybe some corruption occured

i 'think' bios v3 did have cpu microcode included so maybe that got bugged ?

anyway glad your back in business
(ive stuck with bios 3.1 for a long while its just right for my needs and cant see a gain for myself on any bios newer)

Thanks everyone!! So I bought some new RAM. It boots up now!

Here's the steps:

1. Asrock replaced my bios chip - no fix
2. Replaced the Mobo - no fix
3. Replaced the PSU - no fix
4. Replaced CPU - no fix
5. Replaced RAM + New CPU - fix
(always resetting CMOS, etc at every step)

Not sure what happened with the bios update, but I lost my CPU and two sticks of RAM.
(I updated to Firmware 3.0 - had default setting prior)
(with the new Bios chip, I'm on the latest bios)

RMA-ing the CPU and the RAM....

Long shot, make sure the Monitor didn't take a dump. Also see if you can get into the bios without any Hard drives or USB devices installed.

Swap the DIMM banks the memory modules are in and reset the CMOS. If that doesn't work, try each RAM stick individually in each DIMM bank. I'd suspect primarily a bad RAM stick or your kit of memory just doesn't want to play nice in the DIMM banks you currently have them inserted in.

Different board, CPU and PSU.

Now you need to look at the common components that are left. I do not envy you, I absolutely hate it when issues like this make you replace everything Confused

You are left with RAM, CPU and any remaining cables/accessories causing the issue. If you have a spare GPU I would try changing that out to test then see if you can borrow (with the amount this has already cost you I would try borrow before buying) some RAM to try.

Good luck and let us know how you get on. At this point I can fairly confidently say it isn't your board or CPU, in all likelihood even the old ones were still good. Something else is afoot here.

this post codes cycle loop means that your ram doesnt work with those timings mobo setting up
so u have 2 options here:
either get different ram or change some timings in your spd rom to make em compatible (can be done in linux)

Hello everyone, please let me know should you have any helpful comments! Thanks!

I am ready to get rid of this Asrocks board. It worked fine for 10 months, then I updated the bios (which was successful). After rebooting, the system now never posts and seems unable to be fixed.

System Specs:

AMD 1800X (now replaced with 2700X) CPU
Asrocks Taichi x370 MB
Corsair H115i CPU Cooler
Flare X 3200 - 16GB RAM
Aorus Gigabyte 1080 TI Vid Card
EVGA 850w G3 PSU
Phanteks Case

I replaced the motherboard with Taichi x470--system still would not post.
I replaced the PSU with another EVGA 850 G3 PSU--system still would not post.
I bought a 2700X CPU, swapped in--system still does not post.

The system goes through a boot loop. My keyboard/mouse lights never come on; no video output.

When I take the RAM out, I get 46 debug code with boot loop (no display, kb or mouse lights). When I have the RAM in, I get 00, dF, dE, Ad, 52, 08 codes (cycling through codes) and still the boot loop (no display, kb or mouse lights).

In my long history of building computers, I have to say, this has been one of the worst/most expensive experiences I've had.

My only guess at this point is getting away from Asrocks products (trying a different motherboard with the new CPU).

Open to any thoughts/feedback. Thanks!
