Dear Members,
I would like to buy a 4K display to work (I am not a web designer and not graphic) and watching movies. I do NOT HAVE VGA, and I do not have enough money to buy vga and new display as well. Am I going to use a 4K monitor (on 60 Hz) without VGA - only with my i7 4770, HD4600 (that support Max Resolution DisplayPort*/HDMI- 3840x2160@ 60Hz, 4096x2304@24Hz, VGA and Z87 Extreme4 with the following specs: - Four graphics output options: D-Sub, DVI-D, HDMI and DisplayPort - Supports Triple Monitor - Supports HDMI Technology with max. resolution up to 4K x 2K (4096x2304) @ 24Hz - Supports DVI-D with max. resolution up to 1920x1200 @ 60Hz - Supports D-Sub with max. resolution up to 1920x1200 @ 60Hz - Supports DisplayPort with max. resolution up to 4K x 2K (4096x2304) @ 24Hz Thanks Edited by Castor8 - 24 Sep 2015 at 2:35pm |

"Am I going to use a 4K monitor (on 60 Hz) without VGA?"
Is my PC good enough for a 4K TV or monitor without video card? Can I make it with 60 Hz or I only can use 4k display with 24Hz because of the supported HDMI technology on my motherboard? Thanks :) |

First, your mother board is not the limiting factor for any of the Intel graphics specifications. The specifications are those of the HD 4600 graphics in your i7-4770 processor.
These are the specifications for your i7-4770, including the graphics: http://ark.intel.com/products/75122/Intel-Core-i7-4770-Processor-8M-Cache-up-to-3_90-GHz#@specifications These are the specifications for the display resolutions of the 4600 (right column) and other Haswell graphics: You can check them yourself on this page (scroll past 1/2 down the page): http://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/quick-reference-guide-to-intel-processor-graphics Notice that the Ultra HD resolutions of HDMI are ALL at 24Hz for standard Haswell processors, even those with the Iris 5000 series and 6100 graphics. Standard Ultra HD resolution is 3840 x 2160. The resolutions above that are just confusing people. DisplayPort is the best interface to use for Ultra HD, and I would never buy an Ultra HD monitor that did not have at least one DisplayPort input. You can certainly watch an Ultra HD video source with HDMI at 24Hz, that is the frame rate of movies shot on film. Ultra HD gaming would not be good at 24Hz. DisplayPort supports 60Hz as you can see in the Intel specifications. Your i7-4770 is an 'H' processor. Again, it is not your mother board's "... supported HDMI technology", it is the limitations of the Intel graphics and HDMI. |

Thanks for the answer.
So, it means: I do not need graphic card to use a 4K monitor or TV. I only need a display with "display port", and with 3860x2160 resolution. Is that right? I do not play games with my pc.
