Good morning guys,
It's a pleasure to be part of this forum! I would like to move on a X299 platform using the X299 Taichi XE, but because I have special setup requirements, I've few questions: Could you explain the PCIe lane distribution with a 44 Lane CPU? I would like to have this configuration: 2x TITAN V in full 16x mode, with NO SLI 1 Samsung 970 Pro M.2 using x4 CPU lane for the O.S. 1 Intel 900p PCIe x4 using x4 CPU lane for caching video, etc. The Thunderbolt AIC Card using whatever, PCH or CPU lane. Is it possible with this motherboards? Thanks a lot for any reply!

Dear Simplyfabio,
Thank you for contacting us.
X299 Taichi XE has 4 PCI-E 3.0 x16 slots, when 44 lanes CPU installed, PCI-E x16 slots will run at ?œtwo x16, one x8??or ?œone x16, three x8?? https://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/X299%20Taichi%20XE/index.asp#Specification If you want to use two PCI-E slots at x16 mode, there will be only one more x8 slot can be used.
ASRock X299 OC Formula has 5 PCI-E 3.0 x16 slots and one PCI-E 3.0 x4 slot. When 44 lanes CPU installed, PCI-E slots can support at two x16, one x8, and one x4 mode. https://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/X299%20OC%20Formula/index.asp#Specification
Thank you! Yours truly, ASRock TSD |
