Well I want to use certain features that 4.40 and up only has so that's my main reason wanting the upgrade.  Besides the extra fearures I mainly just want to figure out why it isn't working because I know other people are running it fine on Linux. Otherwise I agree about don't upgrade if it's working but ryzen it's recommended to upgrade bios for better memory compatibility and whatnot

As it states on the BIOS page, if it's working properly then no need to upgrade the bios.  Only flash a new bios when it's not functioning.  Sorry yours is having trouble.  I have the opposite, I can't do anything below 4.4 because it doesn't allow me to overclock.

Hi I have this board and it functions flawlessly on bios 3.30 but I really want to upgrade the bios to 4.40+

The issue is that when I boot my system and it loads a bios newer than 3.30 it will leave me with a flashing terminal like my Nvidia drivers are broken. I am running gentoo. kernel 4.16. R7 1700, 1080ti

I RMA'd my CPU originally because of segfaults I don't know if they changed the microcode or anything of the cpu but just sent back story.

Thanks!
