Hi There,

Ive got the Z97M Killer Fatality and switched from a G3258 to a I5-5675C Broadwell CPU.
With latest Bios 1.80 following issues:

I cannot find how to set the L4 EDRAM 128mb Cache Ratio - This seems to be missing. Any hint when it will be implemented?

The Power Target TDP selections seems to be not honored. when setting both to 95 (Watt TDP) this is not honored and thus CPU will power throttle on higher multipliers due to higher core voltage (1.26 v here).
The Target/max TDP can be set through Intel XTU without issues - just not working from BIOS.
 
While driving up to 4.1Ghz on multiplier only work ok - I seem not to able to up the BCLCK above 104 even while keeping core/cache ratios below 3,1 GHz - not sure where the issue is (no issue on G3258) - This was due to trying to overclock the EDRAM by BCLCK - not really need this though when the multiplier selection would be available.

Any hints on when theres a BIOS update coming for Broadwell to unlock the first two?
Any hint on why BCLCK >104 seems unstable for me while this worked for the G3258?

BCLK overclocking is not as effective as it once was, some CPUs will become unstable with as little as 102 while others will go up to about 109/110. It is basically luck whether your CPU will be stable with higher BCLK settings. BCLK effects the entire motherboard including PCIE slots and RAM and while you may feel that this should not be the problem because your G3258 could manage 104 you have to understand that the memory controller is located on the CPU not the motherboard. It isn't an indication of a bad CPU or motherboard. If you really want to play with BCLK overclocking you can use straps (google it if you don't already know how they work) although straps will likely negate any benefit to the EDRAM on your Broadwell CPU as straps will force ratios that allow the RAM and other components to run within spec.

I don't have a broadwell CPU to test with so I have not played around with overclocking EDRAM. I would be curious how much of a difference it would make, particularly when using the Broadwell's particularly powerful iGPU.

I would also stay away from bclk changes, was only playing around because of the two other issues of lacking full broadwell capabilities support/features like setting the edram ratio and the not working TDP power targets.
Any hints on these?

I also noticed that the Asrock F-Stream Utility is no longer working since this cpu upgrade.
I tried the latest version for the Z97M which is 2.0.203. its 100% CPU on startup and some minutes later crashes with an access violation.
Was working flawlessly before.

What information do you have that the L4 EDRAM 128MB Cache Ratio can be changed?

I really don't know if it can or not, but it would be unusual for a CPU memory cache to be able to be over clocked.

Also, about the configurable TDP, you can actually adjust the TDP higher than the TDP spec for your processor of 65W? Intel calls the configurable TDP option Configurable TDP-down, which can be configured to be down to 37W at 2.1GHz.

Bios 1.90 released today fixes this issue on my Z97M Killer.
TDP can now be set above (Asrock EZ OC sets this to 1000W shown in IXTU).
Also setting a lower TDP like 40 works in BIOS to lower the TDP and power throttling kicking in earlier as expected.

So all is well here now with the latest BIOS.

Due to the microcode update I also hope it will fix the low multiplier speedstep bugs present in Broadwell where it was crashing speed stepping on low load before sometimes.
Intel did release a microcode update for that and I just hope it was included here.

Finally the broadwell seems to work (also OC to 4.1 on all cores 1.25v is now stable for my 5675c where it was only 4.0 before)
