Dear Folks,
I am a newbie to the Asrock forum. I am running Gentoo stable amd64 and Debian stretch amd64 on a box with an FX 8300 cpu installed on an Asrock N68 64 FX 2.0 board which seems to run fine interms of the temperature control. I ran the povray benchmark on it and it ran successfully. The problem is that the ethernet connection seems not to be working correctly. The ethernet cable when plugged in seems to be happily communicating with the ethernet card - the lights are flashing away energetically on the side of the box. But I can't get the internet connection to work. I think it could be a problem with drivers etc. The bios runs OK but it is the version that came with the motherboard - I have not upgraded it. The only way to do that if you would be running linux would be the usb drive flash update method I assume...... Would the latest bios update help here and if ti would where would I find it and how would you suggest I install it? I do recall reading somewhere that you needed the latest bios to make the board work properly. Beyond that I think it is actually OK. Comments appreciated. Cheers Michael Fothergill |
