I think maybe get a new board....I just got this after many recommendations and it's the biggest piece of trash ever.
Sound doesn't work, SATA drivers don't work (unless you want your internal drives to be considered as removable USB drives). Reverting to Windows drivers is the only fix, and I may as well have just got a board that I never needed to touch. Oh, and overclocking is a joke! 1.48V to get 5Ghz on a binned 8086K that used to do 5.2Ghz at less voltage (not on this trash).
And I thought Gigabyte had issues......thank God for amazon's return policy! |

Hey,
I recently bought Z370 Extreme4 MB and I got one problem with audio. I can't get my headset and speakers to work at the same time as on previous MB. Speakers are in back panel, headset in front panel. The sound is broken and W10 can't recognize I got 2 devices plugged in. I installed variety of drivers, including the ones from: https://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z370%20Extreme4/index.asp#Download And nothing helps. HOWEVER, when I remove all sound drivers and leave it on default W10 ones it works as intended with one serious problem - I get blue screen releated to audio crash. What should happen, at least according to manual is: To enable Multi-Streaming, you need to connect a front panel audio cable to the front
panel audio header. After restarting your computer, you will find the ?œMixer??tool on your
system. Please select ?œMixer ToolBox??, click ?œEnable playback multi-streaming?? and
click ?œok?? Choose ??CH?? ??CH?? ??CH?? or ??CH??and then you are allowed to select
?œRealtek HDA Primary output??to use the Rear Speaker, Central/Bass, and Front Speaker,
or select ?œRealtek HDA Audio 2nd output??to use the front panel audio. However, nothing like that happens. There is no such thing as "Mixer". I can't even control anything about my device except sound level because the W10 app is very limited. What should I do?
