ASRock should include a jumper to the board!

It's a no-go that you/we have to close a jumper for doing an update of the UEFI BIOS, without including a suitable jumper.

I just did the update from P1.00 to P1.30 without problems.
A further update from P1.30 to P1.40 was successful, too.

I just got word from ASRock support.
They send me a pdf with update instructions.
The procedure described in the link above is INCOMPLETE, or let's say unclear.
The metal (jumper) from step 2 has to be kept in place the whole update procedure until step 7 (powering off).

I didn't try it by now, but i will within the next few days and let you folks know, if it's working.
I'd like to attach this pdf-file but i can't find the function in the forum.

Regards, djoser.

Hmm, well, I don't have a board like yours to test with so I am out of ideas Confused

Open a support ticket with ASRock Tech Support, they should be able to tell you what's up:

If anyone else reading this has any ideas, feel free to chime in.

Thanks for your suggestion.
I pulled the power chord for several HOURS now and additionally followed your hint.
I even shorted the txe1 header for hours now.
Still no effect!

It sounds like you didn't completely drain the power from the board before shorting the pins. Pull the power cord from the wall then press and hold the power button down for about 10 seconds. That should fully discharge all the boards caps. Then short the pins and check the firmware version again.

Hello,

i own the J5005-ITX with BIOS version P1.00.
I want to update the BIOS to the latest version.
To do so the website says i have to update to version P1.30 first.

I followed the instructions on
http://www.asrock.com/support/BIOSIG.asp?cat=Windows10
but after executing step 2 the BIOS still shows "TXE FW Version 4.0.0.1235" (step 3).
I used a jumper to shortcut TXE1 header and removed it after a few seconds.

I should not proceed until "N/A" is being displayed, right?

What should i do now?

Thanks and regards,
djoser.

BTW: I bought the Intel Wireless AC 9560 for this board. Will it work?
