This problem is still occurring. I think there is an issue with the BIOS. I'm running 5.0 and today we had a power-cut, upon restarting the machine, the following were no longer showing in Windows;

CD Drive
WiFi adapter connected to PCI-E 1x (Other PCI-E 1x slots are also not recognized)
Ethernet port

So since the motherboard hardware itself doesn't see these, Windows device manager just doesn't have them in the listing. I've restarted numerous times hoping it will "jog" them back in, but no such luck. Last time I lost it I had to make do without and eventually one day when I switched on my PC, the ports were recognized again.

I've now also noticed that my optical drive is no longer recognised. It doesn't show up under its designated drive letter (Z) in windows explorer. It isn't listed in Device Manager or Disk Management. It works for sure, because power to it is ok and the tray opens and closes.

I'm beginning to think this is a bigger problem? Is the chipset that handles the LAN connection and the optical drive linked? Chipsets (southbridge etc) failing on the board?

Last night I was watching a movie, then shut down my PC and went to sleep. Everything was normal. This morning I switched on my PC and after the desktop loaded, I noticed that my NAS device (and it's drives) were not showing up in windows explorer. The NAS is directly connected via ethernet into the ethernet port of the motherboard. I checked device manager and the port was not showing there either under "Network devices". Here are some of the solutions I tried to fix this issue (but NONE worked);

1. Reinstall the RealTek LAN drivers (version hosted on ASRock MB page)
2. Install newer RealTek LAN drivers (from RealTek website)
3. Remove and replace CMOS battery
4. Short CMOS pins
5. Update from BIOS 4.60 to BIOS version 5.00 (latest stable version)
6. Windows 10 Network Reset

None of these fixed it. The RealTek onboard ethernet does NOT show in Network Devices in Device Manager. When installing the RealTek drivers, I got a message saying that "The RealTek Network controller was not found". Physically when plugging or unplugging an ethernet cable - there is no change in light activity. The only light working on the ethernet port is an amber/orange light that is constant. This gives me reason to believe that the ethernet port is still physically working. For some unknown reason, it just seems like Windows 10 can't detect it - no hardware or software detect. Device manager does not show any "unknown device" with an exclamation mark. I'm not even sure why it disappeared. I did not mess with any settings or uninstall or install anything between when it was working and when it stopped working.

TECH SPEC:
Win 10 64bit 1803
Ryzen 5 1600
G.skill 16Gb DDR4 2400Mhz (8Gb x2)
BIOS: v5.00 (Latest stable)
