B550m SL bios screen not visible w/HDMI or DP

   I'm setting up a new PC and have the 

B550M Steel Legend bios 2.2
ryzen 5 5600x
32gb 3200 ram
Zotec GTX1080 Amp! Extreme latest display port firmware
WD SSD
Win10 64bit

When I boot, I can't see anything on my monitor until I get to the windows login.The monitor cycles through the 3 HDMI ports and the DP which I have connected to the 1080. Same on HDMI. If I want to see the bios I have to hook up my wife's monitor to the DVI Port on the card. I've tried updating firmware, Bios etc and cant find any settings in the Bios that relate to defaulting to DP.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
