Hello everyone,
I currently try to setup a new PC with the following components: * ASRock B550M Phantom Gaming 4 * Ryzen 5 5600 * ASUS DUAL GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER OC EVO * 2x8GB G.Skill RipJaws V DDR4-3200 * WD Black SN770 1TB TLDR: Even with most recent BIOS version, I am unable to install Windows 11, as I do not have graphics output after disabling CSM. What can I do? When I tried to install Windows 11, the setup asked me to enable secure boot, which I can only do when I disable CSM (Compatibility Support Module) first. So I disabled CSM, but after the reboot there was no graphics output. I found several tips online (like using HDMI, using internal graphics, ...) but as I do not have an iGPU, the only thing I could do was connect the RTX4070 via HDMI. Still no picture. Next, I removed the CMOS battery and put it back in which reset the BIOS. I then installed Windows 10 (I could not use GPT partitioning here because of the activated CSM, hence legacy boot) to check if everything works as far as the hardware goes. This went fine. I ran NVIDIA GPU UEFI Firmware Update Tool, which told me the GPU firmware was "already up to date". I then successfully updated the Bios to the most recent version (3.40). After disabling CSM again I saw the same beahviour, no graphics output at all (of course windows 10 did not boot because of the legacy partitioning). As a last test, I switched GPU to an old ASUS GTX1050 Ti that is running just fine in another Windows 11 PC, but the beaviour was the same, no graphics. I am really running out of ideas here. Did I simply miss some other setting in the BIOS that I need to change? Is there any way to boot UEFI even with CSM enabled? I am grateful for any input or ideas. Thanks in advance, Tobi |
