I bought a Z97 Extreme4 second hand recently. It's an older board I know so it might not be fully supported anymore. I'm having troubles with the four top USB 3.1 ports and my ports on the front panel connected through the USB 3.0 header on the. It seems like the Intel 3.0 driver keeps restarting.
I've spent ages troubleshooting. Things I've tried: - Changing the power settings to max on windows. - Reinstalling the drivers. - Disabling the ports from turning off if the system doesn't have enough power. The wattage is fine. The system has an i7 4790k with an RTX 2060 with a 600w PSU. I hooked it up to a power meter at the wall, during games like GTA 5 it only uses around 150 watts. I also tried swapping out to a different powersupply so I know the PSU is not faulty. The issue is really random, sometimes it doesn't happen for hours and sometimes it happens several times as within a few minutes. The bottom two USB 3.1 ports on the rear Panel work fine, these are as far as I know on the AsMedia driver. If anyone has any experience with this if greatly appreciate your help. |
