Z370 I7-8700k W10 Bios SNAFU

   I just built a new system with the above hardware, updated bios to 1.80, loaded all drivers, everything ok. The main aim is to overclock a little to 4Ghz, more than enough for intended use, but then run her as lean as possible, reducing voltage. Here en-lies the problem, adjusting the bios to hit 4Ghz is easy, as is reducing the voltages, you'd think, but every monitoring software I use is reporting 3997Mhz and 1.175v, the latter being odd because it's set to 1.125v. Infact, regardless of what settings I use in the bios the voltage remains at 1.175??? To further complicate things, every now and then she actually boots into windows and reports 4000Mhz, no change in the voltage, but shows correct overclock.

What the hell is going on Asrock??? My 10yr old X58 i7-920 platform had no issues, whatever I set in bios would be reflected when windows booted. It's 2018 Asrock, get your sh*t together please as it shouldn't be this hard :[

	Oh Yeah, and another thing, using a CD to provide software and driver support is so 1998, move with the times people, send us a usb ffs.

	Ok, once I've booted into the OS, I can set the Vcore at 1.10v using Intel's XTU. I'm using CPUz and Core Temp to monitor things, both being near identical @ +/- 0.025v. It's a pain not being able to set it in the Bios and just have it work as intended, but it's at least a workaround until a fix is developed. How low do you think I can go with the voltages? Everybody puts up numbers for massive overclocks, but obviously I'm going the other way and am just curious as to what you guy's consider being a low voltage for a 4Ghz overclock? I'm still at a loss though as to why the frequency shows some variation after restarts and again once the OS is up and running. I know it's only marginal, currently floating between 3993/3996Mhz, so +/- 3Mhz, but why does it vary like this when I have everything fixed at 40??? Turbo Boost has been taken out of the equation, that could explain it if it were not the case, but outside of that I'm lost. If anyone has any ideas regarding the Bios values not being reflected by the system and/or the overclock frequency not remaining static please throw this old dog a bone and shed some light on the subject please : )

	1) As I understand, you are not overclocking your CPU (4GHz at 1.1VCore), but undervolting it. 2) Software CD (instead of USB flash stick) is provided to lower the price of MB bundle. It is a wise step IMO. If you don`t have optical disc driver, you always can download newest software from the web.
