**Hi everyone, I need a sanity check.**
I have an [Asrock X570 Taichi](https://www.asrock.com/mb/amd/x570%20taichi/) **motherboard** paired with a 5600X and I want to use **PCIe Slot 5** for my second GPU to improve airflow for the first GPU. While this isn?™t critical, it?™s been driving me nuts trying to figure it out. Here?™s my current setup: # PCIe Slots * **Slot 1:** Radeon 7800 XT * **Slot 2:** Empty * **Slot 3:** GTX 1060 * **Slot 4:** Empty * **Slot 5:** Empty # NVMe Slots * **M2\_1:** 980 Pro 2TB * **M2\_2:** SN750 1TB * **M2\_3:** Unoccupied (*Note:* [The manual](https://download.asrock.com/Manual/X570%20Taichi.pdf) *states that if PCIe Slot 5 is used, M2\_3 will be disabled.*) I want to move the **GTX 1060** to Slot 5, but I?™m running into issues. I?™ve tested multiple devices in Slot 5, including the GTX 1060, an Intel NIC, and a USB-C expansion card. None of them are detected. However, I did notice that the NIC appears to be receiving power (the lights are blinking). Unfortunately, the BIOS on this board doesn?™t have a "Board Explorer" view (like my old MSI board did), so I can?™t confirm if the slot is detecting anything. Additionally, nothing is showing up in **Device Manager** or **lspci** in Linux. # Current UEFI Settings (Advanced > AMD PBS): * **PCIe x16 Switch:** Auto * **PM L1 SS:** Disabled * **Unused GPP Clocks:** Disabled * **NVMe RAID Mode:** Disabled * **PCIe x16 Bus Interface:** Auto * **PCIe x8 Bus Interface:** Auto * **Chipset Bus Interface:** Auto * **M.2\_1 Support Type:** Auto * **Adjust VddcrVddfull Mode:** Auto * **Thunderbolt Support:** Disabled Thanks for taking the time to read this! I?™d really appreciate any insights or suggestions. |
