    Posted: 26 Aug 2019 at 12:27pm
Hi,

I am interested in purchasing the x399 professional gaming motherboard:
https://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/Fatal1ty%20X399%20Professional%20Gaming/index.asp

However, I want to check if it supports 256GB ram kits that utilize 32GB modules:
https://www.corsair.com/us/en/Categories/Products/Memory/vengeance-lpx-black/p/CMK256GX4M8A2400C16

Corsair claims that their modules are supported by the x399 platform, but I am not sure about this particular board. I understand that ASRock lists the RAM limit at 128GB, but that may have been due to the lack of 32GB modules when x399 and the motherboard came out.

Has anyone tried those new kits on this motherboard?

Thanks!

In case anyone stumbles onto this post in the future, I contacted customer support and they replied with:

"MB does support 256GB, and confirm from our HQ."

Yes, saw a 3.70 BIOS update for the Fatality X399 about 32GB support.

However the Memory QVL's are pretty empty on 32GB DIMM support. Buy branded good memory for AMD processors, preferably Samsung b-die if they exist in 32GB DIMM size. Atleast they have in 16GB DIMM size.

may be also tell their staff/HQ to update their memory QVL, https://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/Fatal1ty%20X399%20Professional%20Gaming/index.asp#Memory

at this time to writing, no 32GB in the list.

Just wondering whether you got it working with 256 GB ram. Which processor are you using?
Thanks,

Were you able to make the system stable with CMK256GX4M8A2400C16 kit? I am having BSODs from time to time. Did you adjust any BIOS settings?
