I'm about to move a system from one computer to another with dissimilar hardware. This is doable with Acronis but I need the disk driver and/or chipset drivers in one of the following formats .inf, .sys, or .oem. This format is necessary to add to the Acronis restore disk and will be added to the new platform after the rest of the system is transferred and before boot. I've downloaded amd_chipset_drivers_1.6.13.0400.exe but that seems to be an installer and not a self-extractor. I'm assuming this because when I execute it I'm asked if I wish to allow it to make changes to my computer. Does anyone know where I can download these drivers? I think the hard disk driver is the most important.
Thank you |

My advice? Don't migrate OS images across different platforms!
You are in for a world of pain if you do. As a rule of thumb only standalone files can be copied back and forth without issues. |

Thanks for the tip. I suspect that is likely. On the other hand, it's a fresh system and if it creates too much grief I and format and manually install the world. I think in the end you will get to say "I told you so". Again thanks for the tip. It is appreciated |
