Good morning,
I have the following issue: my USB keyboard does not work in a pre-boot if it is connected via Thunderbolt. My setup: I have a Z370 Pro4 with the Tunderbolt 3 AIC Rev 2.0 card in my PCIE4 slot. On the Port 1 of my Thunderbolt AIC Card, I have plugged in the Keninsgton DS5200T Docking Station and in the docking stations USB ports I have plugged in my devices. Now all work well once Windows has started, but in the pre-boot environment when I need to enter a password before Windows is booting the keyboard is dead. In my UEFI I have activated "Secure" as the security status for the Tunderbolt security settings and in Windows the Kinsington dockingstation is accepted as a secure device. How can I now access my USB devices connected via Thunderbolt in pre-boot? Thanks Andreas |

Dear AndreasD,
Thank you or posting your query to ASRock forum. Regarding your question, the thunderbolt driver will start functioning once the system goes into the OS. During pre-boot(also called BIOS), since there are no thunderbolt drivers USB devices might not work. With thanks, ASRock TSD Edited by ASRock_TSD - 27 Mar 2020 at 8:18pm |

Hi TSD,
thanks for the reply. But that is no solution. How can this be? All other mainboard suppliers I know have the option,, even the cheap ones, no? There must be a way? Thanks Andreas |
