Is it THAT awful slow with USB 2.0 as you indicate?
I'd probably still contact ToupTek and inquire if they might know a thing or two concerning issues with your using eTron controllers. Not that this will make you feel any better of your ASRock board, but TT may say "Oh heavens no. Our product doesn't work right with eTron. Buy THIS $15.00 USB 3.0 plug-in card(here, name any other USB 3.0controller card) and all your problems will disappear" That's my thoughts and why I suggest you contact them. Yea, sure, it might maybe be another ~$15.00 out of pocket, but TT Tech Support deals with the "oddity" of their products all day long. |

Do you have any other USB 3.0 hardware you could try? With something as simple as an USB 3.0 flash drive, you could see if the USB 3.0 ports are at all working like they should, or if it's just the microscope that doesn't play well with Etron's controller.
