Honestly Mica, the best BIOS is one you yourself is not experiencing issues with.

As each computer is made of greatly varying pieces and parts, what one BIOS a person may like, say, a 3fps graphics performance net gain, the other person will notice their SSD performance lacks. And yet both are using the same board/BIOS.

There is no magic pill concerning BIOSes that satisfy all the Users all the time. The differences/individuality of each persons system all but guarantees that.

Then, you also have the issue of a possible bad flash rendering your board inoperable. That chance only increases as you try searching for that elusive magic BIOS.

Always always when assembling a new machine look at the CPU Support List for what CPU is supported by what BIOS.

You could have gotten your answer days ago had you looked. Your original post said nothing of problems.

http://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/FM2A88X%20Extreme4+/?cat=CPU

For there it states your 7870K is not supported until BIOS 2.50
