I was using my computer last night playing an online golf game nothing the would use much CPU or RAM when my computer just shut down. I disconnected everything from motherboard still would not power up. I have an internal card reader that was showing power to its LEDs. The I disconnected power to the CPU the 8 pin connection and then I could power up fans would come on optical drive would spin front USB LEDs would light. Then I plugged the 8 pin connection back and would not restart. I then took out CPU and tried plugging connection back still nothing. I bought a new PS and same thing with the new PS. NEWeGG shows a 3 year limited warranty on parts but this site is showing one year. I assume MB is dead dose anyone agree? Does anyone know what the real warranty is? Thanks for any help

If you haven't stripped down the PC to its bare essentials, do that first. That is, if any add on cards you use failed and are keeping the PC from starting. I know you said you disconnected everything from the PC, but then mentioned the internal card reader, so how much everything is, I'm not sure.
But, from your description about removing the 8 pin CPU power cable, and then some fans would spin, hints that the CPU VRM stage may have failed. Having tried another PSU, makes me tend to agree the board may have failed. Standard ASRock warranty is one year. If Newegg calls it three years, then try dealing with them for a replacement. ASRock prefers owners deal with the retailer first. |

All drives were disconnected. SSD optical and internal card reader and video card also disconectted audio cable. It is just passed 1 year I bought it on 3/25/15 but did not put it together for another month after that. NEWEGG said it was not eligible for a return.

First rule of thumb is ALWAYS replace the power supply. Yep, you might see some LEDs come on, but that doesn't mean anything. Power supplies fail all the time and are a cheap replacement item.

Hi!
What CPU cooler did you use? Although me and others had a misery with boards of that series and the FX-9590, I am not surprised to hear the next breakdown with one of these. The same problem I (my friend) had with this thing: sudden shutdown and the death of it. Well, in the case you wanted to spare your time or discomfiture of a redundant replacement, I advise you to get it on the way of replacement. Generally your retailer should replace it without comment and by getting a new PSU to test it out, chances are good for a board defect. Hopefully you've got the CPU (and RAM) from the same retailer, so you could send it all back - it shouldn't be your problem what specific component is defective.
