ASRock are we going to get a BIOS update on all boards for the Skylake cpu freezing issues that some people are having?

As far as I myself know, assuming you're being slammed with the Skylake "complex number' issue, Intel last I knew was about to(already has?) release a BIOS patch to all manufacturers to incorporate into their BIOSes.

But this isn't an ASRock specific problem, as you're well aware.

I'll back out of here now. Sorry for the post.

Not that this will make a difference, but I just checked and ASRock removed the BIOS update 3.00 for the Z170 Pro4 board (the one I used) off their website.  The latest version now is 2.80 dated 11/11/2015.

Unfortunately too little, too late, alot of headache as I've disassembled everything to replace the parts with tomorrow.

I don't understand what your problem is with the BIOS update. You've "... disassembled everything to replace the parts...", which is related to this Intel CPU problem, or UEFI update how?

Otherwise, I so far see two UEFI/BIOS updates for two ASRock boards, that seem to have the Intel fix. Both are Z170 boards, both UEFI updates just released today, 1/22. I'm sure others will be following soon.

Since I have never experienced the issue this fix is about, freezing when a specific instruction is run in Prime95, it's not a priority for me personally.

What was the description of the 3.00 UEFI update for your board?

Bios 3.00 was added on 22nd December and just had the following text:

Z170 Pro4
3.00
12/22/2015
Support Sky OC.

p.s: in my million tests with this board I have found bios 2.80 more stable, I don't think I have never seen a blue screen or a hang unless I was trying to push the integrated GPU to a crazy BCLK value

If they pulled version 3.00 it can only mean a new version is imminent, matter of days.

Outside of running prime95 as parsec noted there is no issue with 6700K.

If you are having that many freeze issues I would be looking at other components or bios setup.

Just checked downloads page and new bios with microcode fix is out for extreme 7+, I would expect others to follow in short order.

It most likely means that they received multiple feedback reports of something amiss concerning it. And as such pulled it. Not that a new one is around the corner. There's really no other reason to pull a d/l other that problems associated with it.

Bios 3.10 adds an NVMe Configuration menu, this was not in any previous version for the Z170 PRO4

It also adds the option to disable IOAPIC 24-119 which seems to be important for the ones running hacked versions of MAC OSX

Does not beat 2.80 for BCLK overclock with iGPU but it is close.

Well, he's referring to this.....

The Intel issue and freezes of the Z170 chipset are two different things which a lot of people don't seem to understand. Microcode is not gonna fix this.....
