Hi,
I just a bought a Z170 Exteme4 to replace my Z170M Pro4s and get more features. I know that you generally have to reinstall the whole system when you change motherboards, but is it the case this time ? Both cards are from the same brand and use the same chipset.

As a matter of course I would reinstall. You said it yourself, more features. If the OS boots ,you have no stability issues and you don't want to have to reinstall everything then it will work however.

Yeah i guess. I just thought that since all the drivers seem to be exactly the same (lan, audio, chipset, ...) it would transition flawlessly.
But i'll try to boot it before reinstalling everything, and prey that it still works. It's a real pain in the A** to reinstall W10 when it was upgraded from W7 and the key has been converted.
