Hello,
i like ASRock but with the new AM4 platform a few things are very strange. Hardware: ASRock AB350 Gaming ITX Ryzen 5 1600X with a LC Power Cosmo Cool LC-CC-120 (max TDP 180W) No Case (open Build on a Lian Li ITX test bench) Problem one: My AB350 Gaming ITX throttling the CPU at 75°C real Temp (Tdie) or 95°C offset temp (Tctl). AMD integrate the +20°C offset to influence the fan control. Throttling should happen at 95°C real Temp or 115°C offset temp. Ryzen CPU without "X" will throttle at 95°C real Temp. Next question: Why does ASRock use its own temp sensor for fan control? This sensor is a way behind the cpu temp and inert. I have two pictures to illustrate the problem. The First shows the values schortly after startup of a cpu intesive application. The temperature is rising. The second picture shows the throttling of the clock and the voltage after reaching the 95°C offset temerature. Throttling should begin at 95°C real temp (Tdie) or 115°C offset temp. Below you can see the CPU temperature used for the fan control. This is much too low (66.5°C) and very lethargic.
