Hello,
I need help with 970 Extreme3 R2 m/b. Freshly installed Win7-64, all drivers updated, Samsung SSD850 in AHCI mode. When I am trying to connect second HDD ( SATA2), windows refuses to boot, stating "no bootable device". Disconnection of the HDD is not affecting this situation, I have to go through Windows Boot procedure to restore access to original boot. Switching SATA ports in various combinations is not affecting this fault. I used 2 different HDDs, which are working fine on Gigabyte M/B with exactly the same setup: bootable SDD with Win7. Please, advise. |

Was a single drive connected when you did the fresh install on this MB?

No, I did Win installation with SDD only. HDD has been connected after full Win installation.
AHCI mode was off during OS installation, by the way ( just forgot about it) - I have modified registry afterwards. If HDD should be present during Win installation, I can re-load OS, of course. However, if there is a way to do it by tweaking the registry, I would appreciate the advise.
