Z97 Extreme4 and Hard Drives

   Hi,I need some help deciding on numbers of hard drives.  At this time, I have 8x3TB hard drives sitting on my desk and one Samsung EVO 500GB disk I'm planning on purchasing.  I want to use SSD as my boot drive and 8x3TB disks as my storage pool.  I am not planning on using onboard RAID option.  Please let me know if this is possible.  Maybe I got some info wrong and was under impression that I can use SSD as boot and 8x3TB as storage.  I would like to keep 8x3TB storage but if SSD is not possible as boot drive, any other options?
