Hi so this is my first PC build, I've built and hooked up (with some help) a Fatal1ty x399 professional gaming motherboard, a TR x1900 CPU, an MSI Geforce GTX 1070ti armor as well as using corsair for the psu (750m) the cooling (H80i v2) and the RAM (2x 8Gb dominator) before bootup I realised there was no visual output on the motherboard so I put the VGA cable into a slot in the GPU and no signal despite waiting 1 minute, tried the same using the HDMI cable then assumed I needed the drivers already installed in order for it to work. I then purchased a 3.1usb to vga adaptor, plugged that into the motherboards 3.1 slot and still no signal on my monitor. There has been no beeping, the fans and case installed LED strips work fine and the optical drive opens and closes fine. I am starting to reach a slight panic at this (as I said, first build) and was wondering how I could sort it out

Update; there is infact no fan movement from the graphics card, will double check it's plugged in at least but if I don't update again assume it was initially plugged in and this is just extra info

I've read somewhere that some mobos need up to 10 minutes (!) to initialize the GPU, which OFC I call BS...

Check if all the proper power cables are used. It's very easy to confuse PCIe and EPS cables on some PSU models.

If all that is OK, RMA!

Your first PC build is a threadripper build? I recommend watching a video on how to install threadripper CPU's. They are a completely different ballgame compared to Ryzen and modern Intel CPUs which is as simple as dropping in and locking a lever.

You should get some sort of angry beeping or digits displaying on the 2 digit display on the motherboard itself if you failed installation. A display of "00" is bad, meaning not installed correctly or broken parts.
