Hello,
I replaced the Intel i7 5820K Chip (worked with 64 GB (=max.)) on my X99 Extreme6 / 3.1 main board against an intel i-7 6950X processor. I added 32 GB RAM to the 64 GB. But the BIOs (version 3.5) did only recognise 72 GB. However, the software CPUz tells me that 96 GB are present. Has anyone an idea what the problem could be? Is it possible that the processor works - except to this RAM problem - despite a not 100% perfect position of the chip? I have 8 slots for RAM. Each Nr.1 (A1, B1, C1, D1) is equipped with 8 GBRAM and each 2 (A2, B2, C2, D2) is equipped with 16 GB. D1 and D2 are not recogniced, only A1A2 to C1C2. I would like to be sure what the problem is before passing more days on this problöem with experiments. Can anyone help me? |
