Hi All,
I have the following issue if anyone could help: I changed mobo, cpu, ram, vga in my pc yesterday and currently have the following: Asrock B650M-HDV/M.2; Ryzen 5 7600; RTX 4060; KINGSTON FURY 32GB Beast RGB DDR5 5600MHz CL36 KIT KF556C36BBEAK2-32 (This is QLV supported) I assembled the rig yesterday and ran for almost 12 hours without any issue and multiple successful reboots even gaming for hours. I turned it on today and it did not want to post and RAM rgb also did not light up having DRAM and CPU lights glowing red on the board. Since then I realised that it works with only 1 ram stick installed. I initially switched the RAM profile to EXPO 5600 yesterday and it was working fine. Since then I also defaulted BIOS settings so its back to default 4800 but still not working with both ram modules. Bios version: 3.06 Any idea that could help would be appreciated. Thanks |

Remove and reseat your CPU and CPU cooler. Make sure your mounting pressure is even
and not too much, snug down don't tighten down. It sounds like the weight of your cooler + uneven pressure caused the CPU to shift in the socket (lifted a corner or edge) and now some pins aren't making contact. The memory controller is on the CPU and it's typically connected to pins on the edge of the CPU. I hope this makes sense and good luck. |

I will try that, thanks.
Note that since then I realised that my memories sometime work after power cycling the pc as in unplgging PSU cable and holding the power button then plugging it back and it works. Although it usually requires multiple cycles. Not sure if that will be fixed with re-seating CPU |

I have tried what youu advised and re-seated my CPU. My cooler now is only as tight to properly hold and sit on the CPU but my issue persists.
As an update I have realised the following: If I power cycled my PC a few times it boots up with both RAM sticks in and once it boots up it seem to work endlessly without any issue unless I completely shut it down again. I can also reboot it, I even changed my RAM speed in the BIOS back to EXPO 5600 from the defaulted 4800 and it still boots up again without any issue. Once however I draw power from it by shutting it down it will only boot up again after a random amount of power cycles. I can instantly tell if it is going to boot or not since the RAM has RGB and it does not light up at all when it fails to boot along with CPU and DRAM leds glowing red on the board. |
