Hi!
I have an AM4 ASRock B450 Pro4 motherboard that supports PCIE 3 x2 on it's M2_2 slot according to the manual. Even so, when I insert the SSD, it doesn't show up in my BIOS. The BIOS version is P8.02 The SSD I want to put into the M2_2 is a WD SN580. I know it won't run at max speeds, but I only want to use it as a game drive so that shouldn't be an issue. The manual says that M2_2 shares lanes with SATA_3 and 4 ports so if there's something in either slot, the other one doesn't work, but there's nothing inserted in those Sata ports, so this shouldn't be an issue. I've verified that the SSD is working with an M.2 to PCIe x4 adapter, but the problem is, I can't use the adapter either, because I already have a Samsung 970 Evo in the M2_1 slot, which, according to the manual disables the second PCIE x16 lane. I've seen some info about an option to force M2_2 to support PCIE, but I can't find it anywhere in my bios and I'm not sure which bios version to download if I want to have it. Any help would be appreciated! |

I FIXED IT!
I needed to update the bios to the 10.8 beta in order to get the "Force PCIE support for M2_2 slot" option, from there, I just enabled, then rebooted and now it works! |
