ASRock Z97 Pro 3 boot menue invisible

If I press F11 to enter the boot menue there is nothing visible on the screen! So it is impossible to selct any boot device.

Entering the UEFI Bios is ok.

The problem is exactly like this :

https://techreport.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=116125

I have a NVidia GTX 960 connected to a Samsung Syncmaster Full HD Display, so nothing special.

Please help!

UEFI/BIOS is version 2.20? What method did you use to update the UEFI?

Has this happened to you with any UEFI version?

You could try flashing the UEFI again with the same version using Instant Flash.

Just curious, do you have many devices that appear in the boot menu?

We haven't seen a flood of reports about this, so it does not seem to be a universal problem.

There's an option in the Boot screen, Full Screen Logo, which is enabled by default. As a test, try disabling that option. When the PC starts, and you press the F11 key, some text will be displayed on the screen and you should see message that the Boot Menu will be displayed. This is just a test as a workaround. I don't get this behavior with my Z97 Extreme6 board.

The thread in your link included a post that said a power cycle fixed the issue for a user. Did you try that?

I had luck and there was another BIOS-Update.

Did another FLASH (internet, DHCP) directly from the BIOS. Now I have version 2.20.

The F11 Boot Menue works!

I have eigth item in the menue.

Great, glad that worked. Weird behavior like that can be cured with an update to the UEFI/BIOS, with the same version if their was some corruption.
