Hello, everyone,
I hope you guys are doing well. I'm facing an issue with my custom-built PC. The PC won't boot when the graphics card is installed, however, when I remove the GPU, the motherboard loads without issue. I did some troubleshooting, but still to no avail. Here are some of the steps I've taken: 1. Reseated GPU, CPU, and RAM. 2. Properly secure the power connections. 3. Moved the GPU to a different PCIe slot. 4. Tested the motherboard with a GPU from a working computer (same issue). 5. Removed GPU (which boots) 6. Updated the BIOS/UEFI to the latest version. Here are the parts for my PC: - Motherboard: ASRock Z690 PG Velocita - GPU: Zotac GAMING Trinity OC GeForce RTX 4070 Ti 12 GB - PSU: be quiet! Pure Power 12 M 1000 W 80+ Gold - CPU: Intel Core i7-13700K 3.4 GHz 16-Core Processor I had to perform Flashback BIOS for the CPU, which updated the BIOS/UEFI. Any help is appreciated! Sincerely, NoobBuilder |

Hello, did you solve the problem? I'm having the same issue with my Z590 Extreme WiFi 6e, won't boot with the GPU installed and I don't know what else to try.
Thx |

Try going into the bios and changing the PCI slot the GFX is using to "Gen4"
I suspect it's trying to use gen 5 in auto mode and it's causing the hangup you're experiencing. I helped a customer a few weeks ago with his 5070ti doing the exact same thing. It would stall on boot and get stuck on the VGA light on the motherboard. In his bios, the slot was set to "auto" and for whatever reason it decided to default to gen 5. Manually changing that to Gen4 in the bios made it boot up instantly! He did have a Gigabyte board, but I suspect this basically the same issue. Good luck! Let me know how it goes! |
