Hello everyone so I built a new custom PC and I have built several before. This time I fugured I would make the switch from Gigabyte motherboards which I have always used to AsRock. I have never had problems like I am having now LOL. I went to the trouble of watercooling my 3 m.2 SSD on the motherboard and I finished my PC and filled it with coolant and I purposely left my SSD unplugged to help it recognize the m.2. Well not 1 of my M.2 shows up in Bios. I spent hours trying all these different settings, resetting the ROM, reinstalling the BIOS and no luck. I figured maybe there was an issue with the M.2 install so I drained my loop and took the thing all apart and it was all fine. So I just reinstalled everything and will refill the loop and try again. If not Im gonna probably switch brands and I really dont want to rebuild this thing again. The problem when they say remove M.2's etc is that its a complete watercooled system and everything is behind the GPU. I guess maybe I could jerry rig something to bypass the GPU and run it with the CPU graphics. Open to suggestions. Was thinking of maybe installing an older BIOS?

i dont understand. What do you mean it was all fine? How do you tell the drives are not detected? you see this in the bios nvme menu/booted OS or the drive boot selector section? Maybe some bootloaders are just not in the NVRAM, because its a new board. There is seperate section for nvme drives and sata drives. Anyway i would try the board on the desk with minimal cooling. Use the newest bios on default settings when diagnosing nvme drives detection. |
