What connectors for the COM ports for RS232£ |

Any of the ports marked "COM" will work for RS232 as far as I am aware. By that
I mean both 9 and 25 pin ports. AFAIK the ports exist on these boards specifically to provide legacy RS232 support for various industrial and commercial devices. |

The question was about connectors for the motherboard headers themselves as they're completely non-standard at 2mm pitch (they don't follow the IDE standard), ergo the average baffle and its accompanying cable won't fit due to the connector being wrong. Weirdly though, the LPT header is the standard 2.54mm pitch. Go figure. FWIW, if anybody else wants this information, they're Chyao Shiunn JS-2008A-2. |

Thanks for sharing the info, I didn't notice that based on the pics but now that
you mention it, I can see what you mean. I wonder why they went that route... Ensuring compatibility with an autosense function perhaps or maybe just to differentiate between USB headers and COM headers. Regardless of the connector, it should still be compatible with standard RS232 devices. I am glad you found the info you were looking for. Workstation/server boards often have oddities like this.
