Hello,
I have been using ASRock Z77 Extreme6. I have been looking for up-to-date Realtek audio driver. The "Realtek high definition audio driver" listed on: https://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z77%20Extreme6/index.asp#Download is ages old. I have noticed that much newer Realtek audio driver is listed on recent ASRock mainboards. I have been wondering if I can safely install it and make it work with my mainboard? Or maybe there is some other source of up-to-date Realtek audio driver I am not aware of? The Realtek audio driver listed on the official page: https://www.realtek.com/en/component/zoo/category/pc-audio-codecs-high-definition-audio-codecs-software is back from 2017 so it is also very old. |

Just create a system restore point, before trying, and uninstall the Realtek driver.
But I don't think it will work, because all the leter drivers, go partially via the Windows store, and cannot be used on older boards, because the Mixer is no longer integrated. When the installation somehow fails, always first uninstall the driver, then reboot, and then use the restore point. Basic question however, does it work to your satisfaction, if yes, don't update, because newer version will not suddenly show, all kinds of extra magical settings. Newer is definitely not always better |

Kind Regards
