Hi
![]() I got my hands on an X99 WS and bought an M.2 drive for it. Unfortunately, it?™s not working. The BIOS doesn?™t detect the drive, but it should, right? It?™s Gen 4, but it should be backward compatible. Can you provide any advice on how to make it work, or is it a lost cause? Is there someone who was able to get Gen 4 m.2 disks work od this MB? m.2: WDS100T3B0E SN580 1T BIOS is 3.50 (newest) CPU: e5-2680e v4 RAM: Micron DDR4 32 GB 2400 MHz PC4-2400T ECC REG GPU: in slot PCIE1 (when m.2 is present, PCIE3 slot is inactive) Nvidia Quadro k620 PSU: 600W Chieftec |

I was able to verify this issue and I am now positive that this m.2 Gen 4 disk does not work with X99 WS MB
![]() But if I use adapter for PCIE like EM2-5002, it is bootable and works just fine. |

Hey you still there? Were you able to buy one that was compatible? I'm thinking of adding an NVME drive too, I have the same motherboard. I'm looking at 4TB Crucial P3 or Kingston NV3, anyone can tell me if they will work?
