x370 Taichi arrives today - what do I need to know

its basically the same set up as i have

i have run 3.9ghz from day one (late march/early april)
i used to be at 1.306 volts cpu, but needed to up it a little to overclock my ram so now at 1.325v

now as to this bug ,yes at present SOME cpu's seem to have a bug when used in some motherboards with SOME bios settings............

mine was early retail and was before this cpu bug started happening

there are workarounds so dont panic

as misterj pointed out get everything stable first and we can talk you through the overclocking

(purely my own suggestion here but install bios 3.1 , the later 3.2 only was supposed to add support for very new late designed ram to run at 2666 without xmp/stock but may well bring its own issues, if your on 3.1 i can suggest exactly the same settings as myself and can send you bios screenshots to copy)
also i suggest as has been recently advised by one of the amd/taichi gurus flash your bios with only 1 ram stick to reduce risks of corruption
and only ever flash as misterj suggested at 100% stock bios settings never overclocked or even xmp'd

i also advise when installing windows to run everything stock cpu/ram

then when its stable and trusted after a day r two
start tweaking

In general, some things to know about an AM4/Ryzen system are:

Ryzen is unique in many ways, from its UEFI/BIOS options and settings to its interaction Windows and its CPU temperature reporting. Don't be surprised if it does not behave quite the same as other AMD or Intel systems do. When you see some of the UEFI options, you'll understand. Don't hesitate to update to the latest UEFI version, they do make a difference.

Bugs in the UEFI with over clocking are board specific, what is true for one board is not true for others. That also applies to UEFI versions for each board. Any bug in one version may no longer occur in another. Beware what one user calls a bug, they may simply not know what they are doing.

It is also in some aspects a work in progress. AMD is still supplying updates to the CPU microcode (called AGESA updates) that adds more options in the UEFI and improved memory OC capability. Ryzen processors were available to the public long before the AGESA code was really ready, and it is said another major update will be coming this year.

The POST/startup time is generally slower than other platforms.

An option in the UEFI/BIOS called Advance(d) AM4 Boot Training, which is meant to cause memory training to occur, will cause the board to restart three times very quickly shortly after it is started. That is normal behavior caused by this option. Personally, I don't find this option to be helpful with the most current UEFI versions, and suggest you disable it. But if you feel it helps you, then feel free to use it. Disabling it will shorten startup time somewhat.

If you use RAID, you will need to enable it in multiple places in the UEFI/BIOS. That would be in the Storage Configuration screen, in the Advanced\AMD CBS\FCH Common Options\SATA Configuration Options, and in the Advanced\AMD CBS\Promontory Common Options\PT SATA Configuration Options.
