Hello Community!
I recently bought some components and migrated stuff from my old Predator system into it. So far everything is fine except that my B560 Steel Legend board only detects 1 of the 2 8GB memory modules. Model: https://imgur.com/a/kabfPOg I installed them on slot A2 and B2 like they were in the old system. Tried to tweak them around but the only way the system evens runs is with this A2-B2 configuration. Yet my board only detects one module. I also took out the CPU again to check for any bent pins, but everything looks fine: https://imgur.com/a/vlPfQh6 Also made sure the CPU fan is mounted correctly and applying pressure evenly. BIOS is updated to newest version and the B slots seem to be active (at least it didnt say otherwise in the BIOS settings). So now my question is: Is there a way for me to check wether the memory module was damaged or there is something wrong with the board itself? Unfortunately i dont have access to different RAM modules at the moment. Any hint in the right direction is appreciated :) All the best, M |

Have you tried moving the ram to A1 and A2? I had an issue yesterday where I was in A2 B2 like the manual said and it detected the memory as 2666 speed and when I changed the profile to 4000 the system wouldn't boot. Had to clear the CMOS and then I changed them and it worked fine (still have another issue).

Yes, but without clearing CMOS. But i got a new module today and turns out it was in fact the module that was bad. Got it running now with two new 8GB in A2 and B2 + the old, working one in A3. Thanks though for your reply :) Cheers! |

If you are using ASRock B560 Steel Legend motherboard, if the RAM is not detected, then you need to check a few simple things. First, check if the RAM is properly seated, if it is not pressed properly, it will cause problems. Usually, you have to install it in A2 and B2 slots for dual channel. If the RAM is not detected, insert one stick in a different slot and boot, that will tell you whether the RAM is bad or not.
There is a tool called fix my speaker, which cleans the sound with vibration when water or dust enters the mobile or laptop speaker?”even if the RAM does not work, it works well for speaker problems. Then reset the BIOS settings, meaning clear the CMOS. And update the BIOS?”new RAM often does not work properly in old versions. Do not turn on XMP at the beginning, run it with default settings. Finally, check if your RAM is in the motherboard list, if not, many RAMs are not supported. Check everything, if not, take it to the service center. |
