hi all,
i'm still rocking a Z77 extreme 11 as my main gaming rig. Still decent 1440p gaming experiance with i7-3770K and AMD RX VEGA 56 (64 bios flashed). currently I have a 16 gigs (2x8) Crucial Ballistix Tactical DD3 1866 kit. Now I would like to maximize my setup and add another kit, while I can still source one. The only thing that is keeping me back, is the warning on the Asrock website:
Is this really a thing? bacause these Ballistix Tactical are 1024Meg x 64 layout, so they are single sided, 8 chip pcbs. I don't want to just throw away money on ram i will not be able to use (they are still really expensive). Anyone tried to populate with 4 single sided ram sticks, for 32gig of ram? |

I've just physically checked my ram sticks, and they do seem to have 16 chips on them.
So either i'm interpreting the specs wrong, or the specs are not correct. either way, i'll just go ahead, order up, and take the risk. |
