Hello all,

I'm thinking of getting this SSD as my boot drive: Samsung 970 EVO 500GB - NVMe PCIe M.2 2280 with a matching PCIe adapter.

Does anyone know if my Z77 OC Formula MB supports NVMe and where can I find this info?

Thanks! Smile

From what I found: No. A stock Q77 or Z77 motherboard will not boot from NVME.
Those old chipsets cannot boot from an NVME drive unless a specific BIOS patch has been released AND the old motherboard has the PCIe wiring to allow it. Some have gotten them to work with special BIOS patching, others use a third party EFI boot tool. I suggest you contact Asrock support and ask them if they can release a beta BIOS for you.
Read the follow posts about 77 chipsets and NVME:
